For years, the pair have churned out slick house music remixes of pop hits by the likes of Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Justin Bieber. And now, the veteran DJs are linking with producer Skylar Spence on a disco project called Amelia Airhorn.

“NY Is Red Hot,” the second single from their collaborative album, is an explosive standout. Built around a sample of a crowd screaming out the song’s steamy title, the trio hone in on a steady, natural groove. Layering a four-on-the-floor kick beneath a moody guitar sample, “NY Is Red Hot” bounces with the same stomping energy of Fool’s Gold’s finest modern disco bangers, all while injecting nostalgic warmth with exuberant horns and light piano chords. While the song hardly reinvents the disco song, it’s studied, and so redolent of hits of yore that you might mistake it for something these expert musical excavators found in a crate-digging session.
