Still standing is still such a wonderful song. The line “When you said sorry, you were looking at me” [for harming her mom] is just wild. Or how she has to remind herself her father will be dead everyday. For the rest of her life, he’ll be gone, but it’s hard to imagine someone in your life as dead. “I can’t imagine you dead, but you are, everyday”. It feels so painful. The fact that the father was abusive, yet she loved him.

Another like that KILLS ME is “you left your suitcase by the bed, just to know you could go whenever you wanted”. The way I interpret this is the father having a foot at the door since she was a child, not being present.
