Brooklyn-based producer Anthony Parasole has long been a force on the New York scene, working closely with the likes of Levon Vincent and the Deconstruct Music label on a strain of deep unadorned house. So across only a handful of releases, it’s no surprise that his new imprint, The Corner, has already built up a devote following. For their latest single, Parasole again teams up with partner Phil Moffa for “Pressure”, the bass throbbing as if from the bottom of a chasm. While the synths are like sirens, the effect of the title stems from the closed hi-hats which push the track deeper, ratcheting up the intensity of the rack to an almost unbearable degree.
