"Whatever Comes Our Way" is the first single from All In Time, the self-released third LP from Los Angeles indie rockers the Deadly Syndrome (out August 7). This open-hearted, tuneful electro-acoustic strummer sounds like a welcome resolution between the emotional poles set up on their previous two albums, the exuberant, synth-spiked The Ortolan and 2010's dejected but affecting Nolens Volens. There was a lot of this sort of thing populating L.A. in the middle of the past decade-- some of it was called "blog rock," many of its practitioners considered the next big thing, and pretty much all of it dull as hell-- but the Deadly Syndrome proudly and rightfully sound like the last band standing.
