Kreayshawn's latest post-"Gucci Gucci" move, an appearance on the Madden Brothers' "Firetruck", comes with two strikes against it: it's a collaboration with the twins behind the pop-punk band Good Charlotte, and it has a feature from cornball Chicago rapper Hollywood Holt. But Kreayshawn, who was divisive out of the gate, seems to thrive on adversity, so "Firetruck" is a surprisingly infectious, radio-ready song that channels some of the charming bump of "Gucci Gucci". She still sounds awkward trying to navigate the technical aspects of rapping, but the way she sells lines like, "Got all these chickens clucking'/Foxy's in the coop/ I'm taking it/I'm hot! I'm hot! I'm hot!" makes clear that it's not time to write her off just yet.
