Former Ponytail axe-slinger and guitar virtuoso Dustin Wong already released one LP this year, the Takako Minekawa collaboration Toropical Circle; on September 17, he'll make it a double-header of a year with a new solo LP, Mediation of Estactic Energy, via Thrill Jockey. First single "The Big She" hints at a more aggressive direction from Wong, as the coruscating repetitive elements of the track veer from Wong's more cosmic six-stringed approach.
