Since releasing 2011's thrilling landmark Room(s), Berlin-via-NYC producer Machinedrum's spent time exploring a few different sounds this year, including the clubby tunes collected on the SXLND EP and the somewhat goofy splatter-tronic sounds of his Nastyfuckk EP. This new tune, taken from Ouroboros, a forthcoming compilation assembled by Low Limit of California bass music duo Lazer Sword, finds project mastermind Travis Stewart returning to the smooth, vocal-smeared sound of Room(s), as various vocal snippets-- both heavily manipulated and more straighforward and contemplative-sounding-- work their way through humid thickets of shuddering beats and dewy guitar figures. Ouroboros is out November 27 via Innovative Leisure.
