A very good comeback album. But not competing well to his rivals in my opinion.
This album has some great tracks that get you his two cents and his ground on what happened in that beef 2 years ago as well as other crossfires he’s either entered, been thrown in or have started himself.
Rapping ability it’s good. Sometimes it feels like he’s completely doing spoken word on beats (Make Them Pay…) but that beat is so gorgeous I give it a pass.
Some are complete duds for me, but some others make it up quite well. There are obviously back to back hits early in the album and it sort of falls off a bit, but the quality does stick around a bit.
I feel like this album could’ve been so much better. I don’t understand what the approach was with the triple album drop… just… try to perfect what you got? Don’t bite off more you can chew? Quality over quantity?… I don’t know. I’ll give credit and say it was a unique move and this was definitely the best one out of the three.
Compared to The Fall-Off and GNX I do have this the lowest out of ‘the big 3’, but it’s still a very good album. There’s a reason why we call them the big 3. Because you know? Their music is good? Come on guys let’s atleast try to be fair here.
I do want to say this because this ties into the whole 24 rap beef I’ve since left behind but, I feel like the beef really corroded the rap industry. Especially with the greats. Kendrick riding this unbelievably huge wave of fame, J Cole waving his white flag and then just straight up retiring, and Drake feeling like his image has been threatened (and still kind of is shat on) and felt like he needed to do his bat-shit insane triple album drop.
Yeah we got some great music out of it. But man can we at-least open our ears a bit and at-least give the other artists a chance? Just because you picked a side during the beef doesn’t mean your brains are gonna get blown out if you listen to the other artist 😭
MUSIC IS SUBJECTIVE. LEARN TO RESPECT ONE ANOTHER.
