With its almost sarcastic paper-thin "trap" snares, "BBD" doesn't propose an endpoint for Banks-- if anything, it hints that she still sees time as a virtue in the run-up to her long-delayed debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste. Holding the track together is her cold-hearted New York accent, one that she exaggerates so heavily at one point that her words start to melt in real time. Her career has been marked by stops and starts, but the attitude certainly hasn't gone anywhere.
