Dems' last single, “Christabel”, was a light gem full of warm vocals, synthesized strings, and tropical steel drum percussion, as Dan Moss’ falsetto running through the song like one’s veins, simultaneously exciting and unnerving. Their latest, “Desire”, is dreamy and deeply romantic. Despite its slower tempo, it is just as calculated as any thing they’ve ever released. Moss’ haunting vocals sound like a moment of resignation, giving himself to his deepest passions. In terms of songs about wanting, it's as relatable as they get.
