Montreal weird-pop aesthetes Braids' second album, Flourish // Perish, is out August 20 via Arbutus/Full Time Hobby/Flemish Eye. "Hossak" is the latest track to be let go from the record, and it retains the same level of mystique that's captured in the album's levitating-ball-from-"The Prisoner" album artwork, with a thicket of shuddering electronic touches that give way to what sounds like lightly picked guitar and Raphaelle Standell-Preston's unique, malleable vocals.
