Berlin-based producer Hreno actually hails from Montreal, but in his most recent place of residence is where he's acquired acknowledgement for turning out remixes of others' tunes, alongside fellow knob-twiddler the Mole. Now, Hreno's prepping a new EP of originals for European label Sound Architecture, Country to Country.

The EP's two sides are nearly identical in structure, with an extended cut opening each side before closing out with a more concise tune. Even at eight-plus minutes, A-sider "Completely New" is the shorter of the two long ones ("Portage" luxuriously hits the ten-minute point when all's said and done), and its faintly jazzy techno build (see: those piano chords that anchor the tune's earlier portion) might remind some of UK producer Floating Points' excellent 2011 EP Shadows. Country to Country drops on November 28.
