London songwriter/producer Lyla Foy used to record as Wall, and during that time she had two songs appear around these parts—"Shoestring" and a cover of Karen Dalton's "Something on Your Mind"—but now she's making music under her own name, so deal with it. On March 18 (March 17 in Europe), Sub Pop will release Foy's debut LP, Mirrors the Sky; "Feather Tongue" is the first single, and its softly bleeping synths pair nicely with Foy's smoky vocal take.
