Gainesville, Fla. outfit Frameworks' "Loom" gives off impending doom, cramming in three or four code-red emergency drills into about two and a half minutes. The presence of Deafheaven producer Jack Shirley might lead indie fans to hear it as concentrated Sunbather, though it recalls the Skeleton days of the badly missed Abe Vigoda, as that band's "tropical punk" style is imbued with the main musical exports of the Sunshine State: scream-on-'em metalcore and melodic emo. Whatever Luke Pate is going on about in "Loom" is tough to ascertain, but "Get me the fuck out of this shithole before I lose it" is a good guess.
