If you've heard Alice Cohen's name floating around underground zones in recent years, it may well be from her music videos for the likes of Ducktails, Coasting, and K-Holes, characterized by their stop-motion animations and psychedelic collage work. But Cohen, of Brooklyn, is also a seasoned recording artist, having fronted both major-label 1980s new wave group The Vels as well as the 1990s grunge band Die Monster Die.-=-=-=-

On June 12, she'll release her third solo effort since 2008, a home-recorded pop collection titled Pink Keys. Check out its opening cut, "Cascading Keys", a sweeping track with a 1980s feel pinned by the steady, analog thump of a vintage Linn machine. Pink Keys, mixed by Chris Moore (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TVOTR, Liars), comes via the Olde English Spelling Bee label, which has been revived after an 18-month hiatus.
