I was so wrong about Gorillaz.
For years on end I have put off Gorillaz as a band that makes boring and minimalistic Brit pop - but oh my god I couldn't have been further from the truth. Upon discovery, I found out that the idea of Demon Days and Gorillaz as a whole were created to escape the loop of Brit pop that former stage name 'Blur' found themselves in and go with a new, more experimental and 'either-it-works-or-it-doesn't' route that without a doubt payed off in such a satisfying way.
The album as a whole is overall really uplifting from start to finish (with a couple bumps here and there such as 'November Has Come' which features MF Doom, which I found lacklustre at most - the same with 'White Light')
But yeah I can definitely see myself coming back to this record and thoroughly enjoying it as much as I did on my first listen.
Top 3 Standouts:
- All Alone
- Every Planet We Reach Is Dead
- Dirty Harry
Worst Tracks (not necessarily terrible):
- White Light
- November Has Come
P.S. - Thank you @KoKo for changing my mind completely on Gorillaz
