It's been over a year since Rustie's BBC Essential Mix dropped, and it's still proving to be massively influential when it comes to tracking big, bright, maximalistic electronic music's up-and-comers. Like Cid Rim and S-Type before him, Brooklyn-based Obey City's Sam Obey was first introduced to the world at large via his own tune appearing on Rustie's jam-packed blowout; that tune is the smooth-yet-jagged "Fallin", which appears on Obey City's forthcoming EP, Champagne Sounds, out August 6 via LuckyMe. Apparently there's a second part called Merlot Sounds on the way too, so get ready to uncork that bottle as well (sorry).
