This past weekend, Young Thug made his “Saturday Night Live” debut. Granted, it was for his all-too-brief cameo on Kanye West’s “Highlights.” And granted, he and everyone else, from West to “Weekend Update,” were upstaged by Kelly Price and Chance the Rapper during “Ultralight Beam” 40 minutes later. But he was right there on the precipice, the same same place he finds himself as he waits to secure a release date for his forthcoming debut album.-=-=-=-

In the meantime, the Atlanta rapper is prepping Slime Season 3, which is expected this week and will mark his fifth release in 10 months. Yesterday, he dropped the first offering from that record, a late Valentine’s Day present called “Worth It.” Dedicated to his longtime partner Jerrika, the cut is satin-soft and showcases Thug’s still-puzzling technical dexterity—that is, before it’s interrupted by one of the most cinematic sex scenes in rap video history.
