Columbus, OH's Struck by Lightning play crusty, propulsive punk-infused metal, the kind that brings to mind Trap Them and Disfear and other d-beat proponents. But as you might expect from a group featuring vocalist/guitarist Gregory Lahm, who used to play in "post-metal" sludge crew Mouth of the Architect, they occasionally dip into something bigger (without getting cute or losing focus). The quartet's second album, True Predation, is out April 24 via Translation Loss. Take a listen to "We Are All Just Rotting Corpses", and try to have a nice day.
