Reviewing 2026 projects: Project: #021 of reviewed 2026 albums Title: Cry Baby Artist: Vince Staples Tagline: A long step then a trip of an attempt to make political music. Though in the end the focus is less the music as it should be but the political personality that it has. This album leans more to it's political personality than it's musical personality, using the music (which is decent, but most of it is pretty generic stuff and all sounds the same as each other.) as a background rather than a standout element as it should be. And to put it into a word, this album is quite overrated, I struggled to find moments I enjoyed heavily, and honestly has no value to me whatsoever too since I honestly just don't care about American politics as much. Most of it was just incredibly boring too. Honestly pretty dissapointing based on the feedback I've seen. It does have SOME highs though.
