Her ability to turn crisp jokes into fun, incisive rap is part of her charm, and on “Y R U Lying?” a highlight from her recent mixtape, Mode, Leshurr turns by-the-book boasts about her swag into laugh-out-loud punchlines. The song is all clever shit-talk, Leshurr maneuvering a subtle, synth-driven beat with question after question about the authenticity and bank accounts of her peers (“You ain't got no clothes in your wardrobe...You keep saying that you get paid next week”). Similar to “Queen’s Speech Ep. 4,” “Y R U Lying?” song is given life by Leshurr’s ability to turn basic lines into the kinds of lyrics you want to scream in unison at a party.
