Black Mekon are a nameless, faceless duo from Birmingham, England. Together, they make blaring, sludgy garage bashers like "Jonny Diamond's Pink Flamingo Club". The song's primary vocals seem to invoke the same lizard spirit John Dwyer's taps into on songs like "I Need Seed". Their deep primary hook, a sort of droning blues with a dominating low-end, trudges persistently as their percussion becomes near explosive. I feel obligated to write the word "loud"; the track's waveform shows zero valleys—it's a straight shot of blunt, abrasive peaks. Smartly, they know to curb their near-nihilistic side with cooing vocals. But only sometimes, and even then, it's just a port in the storm.
