Late last month, New Orleans producer Sir Stephen released his debut album, House of Regalia, on 100% Silk. Similar to sometime labelmates Fort Romeau and Ital, Stephen is not afraid to incorporate established house tropes in his music. But the album’s opening track "House of Regalia" takes closer influence from acid house with its squelching bass, keyboard vamps, and distant diva cries. The tune carries a distinct Jock Jams vibe, too; a few small differences separates "House of Regalia" from Technotronic’s sports arena anthem "Pump up the Jam".
