The New York duo bring the party vibes to a genre that could use it.

Party drill hasn’t hit the same since the 41 run, but here come babyfaced duo Baby6didit and HbDaG with tunes that could go off at the West Indian Day Parade. On the heels of their shoulder-bopping “Get Up and Dance,” now they have “Dubsmash,” which combines a claustrophobic bounce—hypnotic quick snaps, mind-scrambling Jersey club drums—with a whine-ready melody that makes me feel like I’m at the sweatiest bashment. Their racing flows keep with the theme, too, as Baby6 hands out the Henny-drunk twerk commands and HbDaG (I’m usually out on the drill whiteboys because their whole schtick is they’re a drill whiteboy, but he’s snapping) leaves nothing to the imagination. It’s a block party vibe the scene could use right now; it’s been even darker than usual lately. And judging by the throbbing snippet that caps off the video they might not be done.
