London-via-Paris producer Romare's first EP was called Mediations on Afrocentrism, a title that carries academic airs-- but the music within was varied and lively, fusing Afrocentric samples (both musical and non-musical) with a variety of sonic guises to make for an engaging listen. A year later, he's back with a new EP, Love Songs: Part One, which carries over the previous release's thematic aims (check the similar cover art between the two releases). "Taste of Honey (From the City)" creates subtle but impressive rhythmic ripples by layering a variety of vocal samples atop a dusty break; it's the first single from Love Songs: Part One, which sees release on March 25 via Black Acre.
