Youth Code, a duo from L.A., have an ice-cold pulse and a blood-red heart. Sara Taylor and Ryan George's take on industrial is a total assault of dark noise and androgynous screams, with just enough tattered melody lurking underneath. Their brutal debut 7" falls between complementary interests in hardcore punk and raw beats a la 1980s EBM and early Wax Trax. It's hard to say whether they want to keep you dancing or claw you in the face.

"Tiger's Remorse", the B-side, begins with a spoken-word sample of transexual desire that loops throughout. Coupled with the confrontational aesthetic, the song could bring to mind industrial provacteurs Throbbing Gristle. That makes sense considering Genesis P-Orridge and Psychic TV comrade Edward 'Edley' ODowd will be releasing Youth Code's single via their own Angry Love Productions-- the label's first non-PTV release. (According to Angry Love's website, Taylor met Psychic TV while on tour working for the metal band Kylesa.)
