There has, of course, always been something intentionally goofy about Chromeo, two dorky dudes playing the new-wave frontmen of their dreams. But they've never put the joke more on themselves than they do on their new single "Jealous (I Ain't With It)," an insecure boyfriend's confession about being too cool to admit to your girlfriend that you don't like when she talks to other guys. But in its blushing penance it reveals itself as one of the sweetest songs ever written by a band whose winking retroisms were never meant to conceal its swelling heart.
