DNCE’s debut is pure fun, even if it’s a little shallow. Growing up with Joe Jonas, it’s refreshing to hear him break away from the Jonas Brothers polish and lean into funky, carefree pop. “Cake by the Ocean” still slaps, though some tracks blur together. Not groundbreaking, but a solid, feel-good era for Joe.
