How do you make music when you have nothing to say

Greta Van Fleet has really lost their identity. The songs on this album are incredibly ambiguous, such that they fail to elicit any feelings or emotions out of me. It feels like the band is intentionally keeping itself in a box, perhaps to maintain as broad an audience as possible. But for me I just make me wonder why I’m even listening.

Special praise to “Saw you stand” for being the only track on this entire album that feels like it has anything to say- and even that one is an incredibly cut and paste love song.

I believe this band is capable of good, even great, music, but if that is going to happen they need to risk something!
