London duo Kodiak's recently released "Dragon Drop" is a giddy, headrushing, multifaceted thing of a footwork-indebted tune, as the song's central vocal hook hurtles back and forth speedy and molasses-slow tempos while a cavalcade of sounds crash and bash around it. The tune saw release on Hot Haus and Unknown to the Unknown late last month, backed by another original Kodiak production, "Egyptian Kings"—and a remix from fellow Londoner and house auteur Eliphino, who adds the same heady-yet-straightening touch that he imbued on his excellent remix of Naysayer & Gilsun's "Blue".
