Matthew Dear applies his oil-slick production touch that marked last year's solid Beams to this standout from Tegan and Sara's solid, electro-friendly new album, Heartthrob. It's not so much what Dear's added here as it is how he's used it, right down to the cresting bass throbs in the background that seem to create a deliciously empty shell for the rest of the track to sit in.
