Tel Aviv beatmaker VesperTown appears to have caught the bug of vaporous, purple-sounding R&B on his new single “Fancy.” Information about Israeli producer online is scarce: the only detail given on his Facebook profile is the terse assertion “I make music.”  But he’s found a home on the Brighton based label Donky Pitch, which has released music from the Range and Slugabed; similar to those artists, VesperTown's music is cerebral without distracting from its more immediate delights. Amidst the track's artfully placed drum machines and post-clubbing synth delirium, what stands out most is VesperTown's playful use of a sample borrowed from R. Kelly's “I Wish”, as the promising prodcucer spins Kelly's voice up and down the register.
