I’ve always been aware of Zara Larsson and have casually listened to her music, but Poster Girl is probably the first album where I really sat down and appreciated what she does as a pop artist. It’s a very polished, easy-to-listen-to pop record with plenty of catchy moments, especially on songs like “Look What You’ve Done,” “Need Someone,” and the title track. What I like most is that Zara doesn’t overcomplicate things here. It’s fun, upbeat, romantic, and full of glossy production without feeling like it needs to reinvent pop music. At the same time, I do think a few songs blend together after a while, and I found myself wishing for a little more variety. Overall, Poster Girl is a solid pop album that made me appreciate Zara beyond just the singles I already knew. I wouldn’t say it completely changed my perspective on her, but it definitely reminded me why she’s such a reliable pop vocalist. A fun, polished listen that I’ll probably come back to when I’m in the mood for feel-good pop.
