From the ashes of experimental post-rock outfit Sian Alice Group rises Eaux. With singer Sian Ahern still at the helm, the London-based trio have foregone the freckled percussion of their former incarnation for a leaner, more focused sound that reaches for synth-pop’s darkest corners. Apparently, they like to use their guitar and bass like synths, which gives the spiraling “No More Power” its edge. The B-side to their debut single “Luther” on new London label Morning Ritual (out June 18), it’s a six-minute burner with tunnel vision. Reflected in the track’s simple but effective strobe-lit video, Ahern’s crystalline vocals guide the way towards oblivion.
