Cleveland metalcore pioneers Ringworm are set to release their sixth album, Hammer of the Witch, via Relapse on March 18. If "One Of Us Is Going To Have To Die" is any indication, it'll hit as hard as all their other records. Ringworm were one of the first to bring together thrashy riffing and leads with 90s hardcore toughness, and while "Human Furnace" remains the only original member, they haven't strayed from the path. Plenty of groups have since blended metal sounds with hardcore attitudes, but it wasn't always that common. Blame them for what happened in the mid-00s with the metalcore trend or hail them for inspiring a good chunk of A389's current lineup—Cleveland bands can handle anything.
