A bold move in a more vertical direction

When you deep dive into its concept, understand the meaning behind each song, and grasp why every language is spoken, every storyline, and every character explored, you realize you’re listening to a masterpiece. The reasons I don’t think it’s perfect are few and don’t affect the listener’s experience in a way that would make them see it as mediocre or bad at all. Some verses could’ve been better written, some songs feel cut short for mass appeal, and sometimes I wish there were more moments with instrumentals as impressive as those in Berghain, especially given that she worked with the world’s most important symphony orchestra. But aside from these minor issues, the album thrives on the listener’s struggle to understand everything at once. She knows she’s demanding a lot from the fans, and that only adds to its magnificence. A beautifully written, produced, and performed record that will be remembered decades from now. I would describe it as a bold move in a more vertical direction.
