“I’ve been a fan of Karol G since 2023, around the Mañana Será Bonito era, so I’ve gotten to watch her become more than just an artist I casually listen to. There’s something about following an artist for a few years and seeing how each album captures a different version of them. That’s exactly how I feel about No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto. My first reaction was honestly: this is not the Karol G album I expected, but maybe that’s the point. After the colorful, celebratory energy of Mañana Será Bonito and the tropical, playful personality of Tropicoqueta, this album feels much more emotionally exposed. It’s sadder, more reflective, and at times almost uncomfortable in how openly Karol sits with heartbreak. And as someone who’s been listening to her since 2023, I really appreciate that she didn’t feel the need to recreate what worked before. What I like most is that the album feels like Carolina behind Karol G. You can hear the superstar, obviously, but you can also hear the woman processing emotions, memories, disappointment and vulnerability. Some songs hit immediately, while others feel like they’ll need several listens before they fully sink in. “MATADORA” is one of my standouts because it gives the album some of that attitude I love from Karol. But I’m equally drawn to the quieter, more vulnerable moments. Those are the songs that make this album feel like more than another big Latin-pop release. I will say, though, that I don’t think this is a perfect album. There are moments where I miss the infectiousness of Mañana Será Bonito or the fun, larger-than-life personality of Tropicoqueta. Sometimes the melancholy becomes a little repetitive, and I can understand why someone might finish the album wishing there were a few more songs that immediately make you want to get up and dance. But honestly? I don’t think Karol made this album for that purpose. She made an album about feeling things deeply—and that’s exactly what the title suggests. No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto feels like an artist refusing to apologize for being emotional, even when those emotions aren’t pretty or easy. As someone who became a Karol G fan in 2023, I think that’s what makes this era special for me. I’ve already seen the happy, confident, triumphant sides of Karol. Now I’m getting to hear a more vulnerable side of her. And I don’t need every album from an artist I love to make me feel the same way. Sometimes I just want to hear them grow. No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto isn’t my favorite Karol G album, but it’s one I respect more with every listen. It’s emotional, imperfect, intimate and very human. And after following Karol since 2023, there’s something really rewarding about being able to experience another chapter of her evolution in real time.”
