All My Heroes Are Cornballs
“JPEGMAFIA’s last album, 2018’s ‘Veteran’, was a sadistic thrill ride, created by a rap artist just as comfortable screaming as breaking into a catchy falsetto. Essentially the antithesis to a Drake album, ‘Veteran’ was inspired by the idea of taking trap and twisting it completely beyond recognition via thick bursts of distortion, stabbing guitar kicks and dusty drums that hit like heart palpitati”

EXPERIMENTAL RAP
“Reviewing 2026 projects: Project: #017 Title: EXPERIMENTAL RAP Artist: JPEGMAFIA I have very mixed feelings about this album, I know it's meant to intentionally sound annoying, intense, messy, chaotic, uncomfortable, and a difficult listen for the listener, but it also feels like it tries to gravitate into purposely being a mess and trying to be experimental rather than trying to make good music (not trying to say the album's bad). Definition of music for people with trained ears. Also doesn't feel like an album that many would go back to, even though it's probably intended to be like that, God knows what JPEGMAFIA's intentions truly are with this. The album's journey is completely unique compared to anything else in the music industry, with the tracklisting flowing like each song's structures, loose, uncoordinated and abrupt, and that is my favourite thing about this album, otherwise it's a pretty difficult listen. Might be better after a couple listens for me though but at the moment it doesn't feel like something I would come back to, but I can say the second half does feel a lot better to listen to. Also The 1st Amendment gotta be dealt with how you make a song about Charlie Kirk 😭. FAVOURITES: New Era, Lights, babygirl, No Strippers In Heaven, ¥ (Yen) LEAST FAVOURITES: $ (Money), head, Meet the Dealers, TSAR BOMBA, The 1st Amendment Simplified rating: 5/10”
EP!
“EP! Is a 26 minute long project with some of (in my opinion) some of the most CONSISTENT work from JPEGMAFIA, I wouldn’t say it’s his best, but project wise, it feels like all songs were developed along side each other, which I’m a sucker for albums that actually try to be well rounded instead of just tracks thrown together. I love how it’s not in your face JPEG but also not JPEG sounding like he’s going to throw up over ambient electric noise (Thug Tears). It’s actually a really balanced but yet energetic project from the heavily experimental artist. If you got 30 minutes to yourself, don’t be afraid to try this.”
SCARING THE HOES
“insanely fun listen. awesome collab between the 2 people that you think of when you think experimental rap. peggy absolutely shines a lot brighter on scaring the hoes vocally but danny brown makes up for it through his funny lyricism. totally not for everyone but awesome if you love experimental rap. (also that redveil feature is generational)”
