“Even with the band swapping ear-splitting walls of sound and chugging riffs for a more subdued semi-acoustic approach, Alice in Chains created a grunge masterpiece with deep and powerful lyricism and imagery combined with masterful songwriting. Songs such as “Nutshell” and “Don’t Follow” mix AiC’ signature grunge sound with other elements such as blues and country, resulting in an EP with a varied yet cohesive sound, creating an atmospheric, introspective listening experience unlike anything their Seattle-based peers released.”
“This is my first experience listening to more psychedelic rock and im proud to say it was a good one. As i often say, my favorite rock is lowkey and slower (i still like upbeat rock just not metal) and this was pretty lowkey through a lot of it. I can respect why this is a very widely loved album but since this is my personal rating, i place it lower.”
“redux reviewing this because I keep coming back to it, it’s really growing on me (a couple of these songs got me in a chokehold)”
“Favourite: Nutshell Least Favourite: Swing On This”
“Got Alice In Chains drunk. Do not recommend”
