Benny the Butcher has always been like this for me, a project isn’t shit but also isn’t anything new or groundbreaking (and these shots are also fired at Griselda).
There are some very good and great songs on here! Project wise? What was the point? And I just struggle to see how this was an album and not just another monthly EP from some Griselda member.
To be clean and cut about it. It’s nothing that touches good or even bad. But it still sits in a painful limbo of ‘I’m a undercooked 20 minute project that probably could’ve been much more’
But even with this ranking, like I said, I still might throw it on. These types of records have their own charm as it’s a quick record of stuff you probably won’t remember the next time you play it, which creates this always refreshing feeling to listen to an album like this every now and then.
A par album that has a bit of spark.”
