I found this record incredibly difficult to get through, as it leans so heavily into trying to be atmospheric that it often feels like a majority of the track list are just noises. “Melodic masterpiece. Everything in its right place Optimistic Motion picture soundtrack This album reminds me of a childhood. Not mine but another’s. It’s off-putting, not perfect, but determined, determined to live happier, and more successfully than his/her parents. Radiohead does a good job of building yearn, with many unsettling chords leading to a resolved chorus.”
