“The last great Kanye solo album. In the middle of his MAGA era and on the verge of an anti-semitic outburst. This is Kanye teetering on completely losing it. This album is great despite some non-sensical lyrics and lack of song structure on a few tracks. Kanye’s knack for sampling and producing shines through. He’s that good. Ghost town pt.2 is the perfect example. Muttered lyrics that he claims were recorded on the way to the listening party. But the epic production makes it sound like a masterpiece. The lyrics are centered around mental illness, anxiety as a father and braggadocio. Kanye works in his classic ridiculous/funny bars. This tight seven track album makes me wish more artists put out EP style bodies of work. Almost a decade after it’s release and unfortunately there’s not a sign he will return to greatness.”
“This would be the best kanye album of all time if it had more tracks the same level as the already existing ones. RANKINGS: 1. No Mistakes: I love this song, words cannot describe how good this song is. 2. Wouldn’t Leave: catchy, musical, gets stuck in my head easily, you could listen to this song no matter what emotion you are feeling. 3. Ghost Town: 070 shake’s part just drags on and on, it would be something left in my head if it was shorter and less repetitive. Despite how good it sounds, it just goes on for too long. Overrated: All mine, this is one of the most popular songs on the album but it’s arguably the worst. Underrated: Yikes, the hook is good and I go to this song whenever I need a hype up song.”
“One of those albums that I’ll take 30 minutes out of my day to listen to occasionally. Ye talks about his mental health and other problems in his life in every track ranging from his diagnosed bipolar disorder to his suicidal thoughts all throughout the album. I heavily mess with the production of the album as it’s a mix of his aggression yet somber bars in his career. You get a little bit of everything from Ye here. I do feel like this project was rushed a tiny bit. But that doesn’t do anything to the album itself, we’ve seen worse. Overall this album stands out. But is also surprisingly right smack dab in the middle of my ranked Ye albums. He’s that good in my opinion.”
“I know that this album has shortness bias but it is fucking amazing. I dont like it as much as graduation or college dropout but score-wise its easier to rate higher. Its shortness tho is the thing holding it back from being a ten in my eyes. Love this album wish it was longer and i wish the first song was split into a talking song and the song song. i take back the part about the first song ✌️ Edit numero dos. I dont care about the length anymore. The feeling of staring at my ceiling at 5 am while playing this as a vinyl is yet to be topped. This album has honestly deserved this rating from me for a long time.”
“Short & sweet, a really good solid album from Kanye. Only being 23 minutes long with 7 songs benefits the album in my opinion rather than congesting it with filler songs and throwaways. The production from Kanye on this album is incredible and is probably some of his best work on here. Top songs for me are ‘Ghost Town’ ‘Wouldn’t Leave’ ‘Violent Crimes’”
