β**π Thoughts:** Slipknotβs fifth studio album, *.5: The Gray Chapter*, is a tribute to co-founder and bassist Paul Gray, who passed away in 2010. Whilst simultaneously being a tribute album, it also serves in my opinion as a better version of *Vol 3. The Subliminal Verses*βa record that began Slipknotβs exploration into melodic singing rather than solely screaming and rapping. This record just improves and excels on every flaw of Vol 3βwhether it be creating more memorable, intricate riffs or more effectively using singing in their songs.
