It also felt a bit repetitive and generic and I would have hoped for something more. Also I'm pretty sure I heard one of these loops in Apple Loops when I was making music 😭 FAVOURITES: cigarette smoke LEAST FAVOURITES: drop dead”
“Solid album from Olivia Rodrigo with some absolute bangers but also some low and uninteresting points on this album as well. The upbeat songs have a very early 2000’s sound to them which goes so well with Olivia’s delivery and lyrics. A standout is the song ‘honeybee’ which has unreal production and instrumentals and also top tier vocals from Olivia as well. Top songs are ‘drop dead’ ‘maggots for brains’ ‘honeybee’ ‘u + me = <3’ ‘my way’ ‘expectations’”
“She killed it per usual. With her new hit “honeybee” getting constantly on repeat on socials, her album easily climbed the charts. Taking the creative choice by splitting her album in half, with the first half being in love and the second half in disarray after a breakup. Love that she’s expanding her marketing to making albums with more than one word.”
“Ok. So I was worried after her last super pop near masterpiece of an album, there was no way this would compare to But wow. I really enjoyed it for sure. I don’t know the names of all the songs well enough to comment on each one. But I think I added 3/4 of the album to my favorites playlist. Bravo Olivia!”
“First Olivia Rodrigo album I listen to front to back, and I can’t say I’m disappointed. It has a very good narrative, which, for a few tracks, I can relate to. Though I can say that some tracks (the ones I rated below 6.0) are definitely Taylor Swift coded. I’m genuinely surprised”
“I’m typically not the biggest fan of this type of music however, I like this one. The songs have a retro feel with the use of synths but they are still modern. Some songs are just melodically beautiful and fit Olivia’s voice soo well. Good album overall”
